  8. Enter the Battery's Rating in the Selected Rating Units. Press "Enter." Check battery label for rating. If a rating is not visible on the battery, use the Interstate Battery Replacement Guide to determine the original equipment CCA requirement for the vehicle and enter that rating.

  9. Measure the Battery's Temperature. Press "Enter." To measure battery temperature, aim the analyzer's IR temperature sensor within six inches of the side or top of the battery. (If the vehicle is equipped with a heat shield, find a hole in the shield anywhere on the battery.) The arrow embossed on the top of the analyzer indicates the sensor's location. Allow the temperature on the display to stabilize before pressing "Enter."

  10. Estimate the Age of the Battery. Press "Enter." The age of the battery does not affect the battery test results, but it is important information for the consumer. Find the age of the battery by reading the punch-out dater or battery-date-code sticker/stamp. If it's the original equipment battery, use the age of the vehicle.
  11. View "Battery Test Results" on the Screen. Press "Print." This will print the results of the battery tests.

  12. Present printout results to customer
