Boost Sales Opportunities

Because a failed battery is one of the leading causes of a vehicle no-start situation, it makes perfect sense to include a battery check as part of any overall vehicle preventive maintenance program. Here are a couple of pertinent facts:
  1. A study by Frost & Sullivan Data indicates that, in a given year, 28.5% of the vehicles on the road will require a battery replacement. What this means to you, the auto service professional, is a large percentage of the vehicles that come through your shop will require a new battery in the foreseeable future.

  2. In a recent consumer survey conducted by Spectrum Research, nearly 7 out of 10 battery buyers said that they would be "likely" or "very likely" to replace their batteries if testing showed that it would be likely to fail in the near future.
In a "post-failure" mode, the customer will take the path of least resistance to get the battery replaced. In other words, your chances of getting that sale are greatly reduced.

But, by making battery checks a routine part of an overall preventive-maintenance program, you have a much greater chance of getting the battery sale and, most importantly, spare your customer the inconvenience of a battery failure.
